Technical Instructor Principal

Position Description        Principal Trainer will be responsible for gathering, writing, and organizing USAF technical materials for purposes of authoring, producing, and presenting technical documentation and training materials. Included are system/subsystem/support equipment/operation training slides, instructor/student guides, job guides, practical exercises, and technical manuals. Must have demonstrated ability to author original technical material from review of engineering drawings and discussions. Must be able to consult with design/development personnel to establish and prepare system/subsystem operating, maintenance and troubleshooting descriptions. Must be comfortable operating equipment to determine student usability. Must have demonstrated ability to plan, structure, assimilate, and present training course curriculum and materials for a variety of student/customer audiences. Ability to use the product to develop practical exercises applicable to the student's needs and use. Possess knowledge, poise and leadership ability to coordinate and conduct training classes to end-users. Must be able to work independently to gather technical data from Subject Matter Experts and convert that data into comprehensive training materials, with strong focus on consistent and logical flow of material. Must be a strong team player, with the ability to share the gained knowledge with other trainers and writers.           
Skills Required  • Advanced level knowledge and competency in customer training process and standard USAF training formats • Current ACTIVE Secret-level clearance. Ability to obtain higher levels of clearance • Analyze and interpret engineering source data for use in training materials • Evaluate operational system in laboratory environment; coordinate with integration and test engineering to observe equipment malfunctions and determine methods to eliminate problem areas • Advanced level knowledge and competency in development tools, specifically Microsoft Word and Powerpoint; knowledge of automated training tools. • Excellent oral communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills. • Experience organizing, planning and executing training plans, task analysis, and detailed curricula • Participate as logistics team member to plan training events and status materials              
Skills Preferred • Understanding of Electronic Attack (EA) mission systems • Current ACTIVE Top Secret-level clearance. Ability to obtain SCI and program clearances • Ability to decipher line drawings at the LRU and hardware level. • Ability to decipher signal flow of electronic Medias and systems involved with the construct of the system as a whole. • Ability to troubleshoot basic system setup to setup scenarios • Formal Training Certification      
Experience Required      • Eight to ten years of related work experience. • Experience within aviation community as an airborne sensor operator, preferably in the ISR, ELINT, IMINT, GEOINT and/or RADINT mission profiles     
Experience Preferred     • Experience as an airborne Sensor Operator on the Compass Call platform • Experience as a Compass Call system trainer • Experience with electronic systems, preferably military equipment and support equipment • Preparation of training cost estimates • Experience with automated training tools • Experience working within an Engineering lab or environment           
Education Required        Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
