Designs and develops graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, presentations and publications to meet department standards and deadlines. Coordinates printing needs to ensure quality and cost-effective printing. Operates computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print and store text, illustrations, graphs, charts, etc. Consults with department staff and provides technical graphic advice. Formulates concept and renders illustration and detail from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination. Selects type, draws lettering, lays out material, or performs related duties. Determines style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conform to reproduction requirements or follows specific instructions regarding these variables. All other duties as assigned.
Skills Required Knowledge of computer-based design workstations and their design capabilities; of traditional graphic production methods, techniques, and equipment; of design principles and of printing processes. Skill in the operation of graphic design equipment, and in the use of various graphic design software packages. Ability to design and produce graphic materials. Effective communication skills. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES a) TECHNICAL SKILLS Proficient use of Photo-shop, Adobe Illustrator and Corelle Draw software Applications. b) SOFT SKILLS Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and communication skills. Proficient use of computer software programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Power Point or equivalent.
