Mechanical Sustaining Engineer

What you will do: • Work closely with Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, and Quality to coordinate product platform enhancements, implement cost reduction programs, drive corrective action in response to field issues, respond to regulatory requirements, resolve manufacturing obsolescence and manufacturing quality issues on existing printers. • Focus for the first 12-month duration on value engineering/ product cost reduction projects. • Provide technical input/support for complex electromechanical systems on existing and legacy printers. • Troubleshoot customer application problems if they are design related. • Debug, design, verify and implement engineering changes for existing and legacy printers. • Design experiments and perform testing to collect verification data for proposed design changes. • Identify opportunities to improve product quality and product productivity. • Update parts, drawings and assemblies using CAD as required. • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and other light design analysis as required to prove out designs and changes. • Ensure component reliability based on technical evaluation of vendor's designs and manufacturing processes. • Occasionally travel to customers and suppliers as required. • Perform other related duties as assigned. This role might be a good fit if you: • Possess an Associates Degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering. • Have 2-5 years of design experience in product development in a manufacturing environment. • Can create engineering drawings, and other technical documentation required to perform the assigned task. • Are experienced in writing, verifying, and processing Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)
