Fire Protection / Mechanical Engineer (PE)
We are seeking an experienced and driven Fire Protection / Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position plays a key role in the design and development of mechanical and fire protection systems, including the preparation of construction documents and technical specifications. The successful candidate will apply advanced engineering judgment, contribute to complex projects, and uphold a high standard of technical excellence, particularly within healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
System Design
  • Design fire protection, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pump sizing, piping systems, sanitary systems, medical gas systems, domestic water heating, and ductwork.
Engineering Analysis
  • Perform system calculations, life-cycle cost analyses, and equipment selections to support efficient and compliant system designs.
Construction Documentation
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and supporting project documentation.
Field Support
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction inspections to verify design intent and construction quality.
Coordination
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external consultants to ensure integrated project delivery.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, ASHRAE, IBC, and related regulations.
Software & Tools
  • Utilize industry-standard design and analysis software to support project execution.

Qualifications
  • Healthcare Project Experience: Required
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Software Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, and Trace 3D
  • Travel: Up to 20%, depending on project needs
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Contractor requirements; background checks required

Licenses & Certifications
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • NCEES registration
  • Licensed in at least one U.S. state
