RESPONSIBILITIES: • Managing & Supervising Responsibilities • Direct staff on all shifts in the performance of approved maintenance/facility work. • Follow up and record progress on jobs assigned and scheduled. • Schedule maintenance work of entire crew without wasting manpower or materials. • Assist the Maintenance Manager in the training of mechanical staff. • Ensure staff availability for in-process line repair. • Ensure the orderly conduct of personnel with respect to company policy and work rules. • Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed. • Mechanical Responsibilities • Perform maintenance work (repairs, PMs, improvements, etc.) as needed. • Help maintain and fulfill the PM system and schedule PM activities. • Help review, schedule, and fulfill corrective action requests and preventive action requests. • Conduct on-going monitoring of equipment to identify possible improvements. • Help determine the best methods, materials, tools, and equipment for specific jobs. • Help establish and meet work specifications and quality standards for each job. • Direct the requisition of materials, tools, spare parts, technical materials, and supplies. • Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed. • Apply LO/TO policies in accordance with OSHA law and BEI Training. • Work to ensure all machines are guarded properly. This includes replacing guards when finished working, not bypassing safety devices, and properly repairing machines. • Ensure that all the food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively. • Perform all other duties assigned by your Manager. REQUIREMENTS: • Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility a plus. • Bi-lingual in English and Portuguese preferred. • Must have reliable transportation. • Must be willing to work beyond regular shift, nights and/or weekends as needed since unforeseen situations occur from time to time. • Must be able to work with minimal supervision. • Must wear proper protective equipment (PPE), including uniform, guards and steel toe shoes/boots as required. • Must be comfortable with heights. • Must be able to operate a forklift and scissor lift. • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Must possess basic hand tools. • Must be a team player. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • 5 years’ experience in production equipment set up, maintenance and repair required. • Prior maintenance supervision preferred. • Trouble shooting skills for mechanical, electrical and pneumatic repair. • Experience in the food industry and/or high-speed consumer packaging is helpful.
