The Designer II position, located in the Greater Nashua, NH region, requires 10+ years of experience in the Mechanical Design and Drafting profession, with a minimum 3 years specifically assigned to the designer role in packaging RF Microwave Modules. The position will provide support to our EW electronics systems, EO/IR/RF systems, precision pointing, power amplifiers and countermeasures-based products, as well as other advanced technology component business. The position will entail being part of a Design & Drafting Community, working with the latest CAD Technology and Processes that define the future of CAD capabilities, including support of Model Based Engineering via Model Based Definition. The applicant to this position will also advance their technical skills while performing assigned responsibilities on development projects and supporting sustainment of our existing product portfolio. The individual selected for this position will be an experienced Mechanical Designer with Microwave and Substrate design experience who is a problem solver with solid technical design capabilities in geometrical tolerance fundamentals in support of engineering, design, analysis, product definition and product build processes. The duties assigned to this position, while under the guidance of Program and Engineering Leadership, include the following: • Utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools to design and document RF and Power Amplifier Microwave Modules, components, systems, portion of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve production. • Support mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware design efforts from conceptual layouts through detailed design. • Conduct design trade studies, volume packaging and tolerance analysis. • Plan, execute, develop, release and control of product definition data (engineering models and drawings). • Work closely with technicians in the generation and assembly of prototype/engineering hardware and test equipment. • Create, maintain and update engineering records and files as appropriate, perform ECR’s and ECO’s as required and other related duties as assigned.
• Familiar with standard manufacturing practices for the efficient fabrication of RF and Power Amplifier Microwave Modules, mechanical components and assemblies • Work within a broader program team, capable of communicating across functional boundaries in for problem resolution. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. • Good understanding of GD&T in accordance with Y14.5. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Familiar working in Autodesk AutoCAD. Have a solid foundation in creating and modifying parts, assemblies and drawings. • Familiar working in CREO Parametric/Pro/Engineering and Pro-Intralink/Winchill. Have a solid foundation in creating and modifying parts, assemblies and drawings. • Proficient in Print Circuit Design and Associated IPC-2221 standards • Proficient with electro-mechanical defense electronics. (Designing Chassis', Card Cages, Cables, Assemblies, etc.) Proficient with MIL-STD-31000 (Technical Data Packages), ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawings), ASME Y14.24 (Types of Engineering Drawings), ASME Y14.5-1994 or Later. (Dimensioning and Tolerancing) .
Knowledge of AutoCAD EPD plugin modules: Master Ceramic Designer and Packaging Documentation Module. • Knowledge of Cadence SIP. • Expert with Y14.5 GD&T, Military Standards, ASME Standards • Proficient with Creo and Pro-Intralink/Winchill • Experience with Dassault Systemes ENOVIA PDM • Ability to lead small to mid-level designs and effectively communicate within an Engineering team • Active DoD Security Clearance
Individual must be technically competent in all levels of documentation and have the ability to plan and carry out work assignments of varying complexity. Requires an Associate's Degree in a technical field or its equivalent and/or eight (8) years of technically related experience.
